Qualicom Rational Unified Process - QRUP

QRUP is Qualicom's streamlined adaptation of IBM's Rational Unified Process (RUP). It consists of a series of phases and disciplines, each of which describes a set of associated activities and artifacts based around a common skill set.

A QRUP project consists of one or more development cycles, depending on the size of the project. Each cycle comprises four phases -- inception, elaboration, construction, and transition -- and concludes with a product release to business users. Again depending on the scope of the project, a phase may be broken down into a series of iterations. Each iteration comprises a set of activities (or disciplines): business modelling, requirements gathering, analysis and design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

At Qualicom, in addition to using the QRUP model for our own development projects, we have helped clients further adapt QRUP to meet their own needs. At the Government of Ontario, we also constructed a generic project web site to reflect the application development model that we helped to formulate.
